Clarke Price recently completed a 40-year career with The Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA), including 22 years as CEO of this progressive, nationally recognized association serving Certified Public Accountants. During his career with OSCPA Clarke worked in virtually all areas of the operation, including public relations, membership development, governmental relations and marketing.

The Ohio Society of CPAs’ record of innovative leadership was recognized by ASAE when the Society was selected as one of nine “remarkable associations” as part of an extensive nationwide study of successful associations. Working with Good to Great author Jim Collins, OSCPA was featured in the ASAE publication 7 Measures of Success: What Remarkable Associations Do That Others Don’t.

Clarke’s work on behalf of the accounting profession and the scope of his influence was recognized by Accounting Today which named him as “one of the 100 most influential people in the accounting profession” on 10 occasions. He was also selected as “a technology superstar” by Accounting Technology magazine. The American Institute of CPA’s awarded its Distinguished Service Award to Clarke for his work organizing and as chairman of the boards of the State Societies Network, LLC and Shared Services, LLC, organizations that united the state CPA organizations and AICPA.

Clarke believes in the power and community benefit of not-for-profit organizations. During 2008-2009 he served as Chairman of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board of Directors. Clarke’s prior involvement in ASAE included chairmanship of the Association Political Action Committee (APAC) and the ASAE Education Committee. He also served a three-year term as a member of the ASAE Board of Directors and is a founding member of ASAE’s CEO Center. In 1998 Clarke was selected as an ASAE Fellow, an honor conferred upon fewer than one percent of ASAE members. With 23,000 members, ASAE is the premier organization serving the association management community in the United States. He continues to be an active volunteer for ASAE and is chair of the ASAE Foundation Development Committee.

Before joining The Ohio Society of CPAs, Clarke was an Account Executive with a New Jersey-based advertising agency where he served clients in the resort and sporting goods industries. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as Public Information Specialist for the First Army in New York City.

Clarke received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in December 1969. He currently serves as a member of the Franklin University Board of Trustees and is chairman of the Audit, Controls and Compliance Committee.
